WRESTLER COMMENT

Hiromu:
‘Let me say this first. KUSHIDA, Ospreay, whoever wins, congratulations. You did something I couldn't. Not winning Best of the Super Juniors, I'm so cut up I want to die! And for a champion not to keep a promise- I could die, I could die. But there’s a lot to do. The guy I wanted.. ‘K’.. It won't be June 11 at Osaka Jo. First, I have to beat Will Ospreay. Then I have to get my revenge on Ricochet and Dragon Lee for beating me in A block. Then, then I can face ‘K’. But, but, but! Congratulations. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, congratulations. From the bottom of my heart I'm jealous of you two for being able to compete in the finals in a sold out building. But at Osaka Jo Hall, it won't be Hiromu versus the winner tonight. It'll be Hiromu versus Will Ospreay, either way. That's it.’

BUSHI:
‘This year’s Best of the Super Juniors is over. It’s bad enough that I don't get to be in the ring in the finals, sold out. What's worse is I lost to “him”. I won't forget. En serio- for real.’

EVIL:
‘The future of New Japan is one of a company that's under my control. that hasn't changed. It's a cold, hard truth. And as for something else under our control.. These belts have gained a whole lot of value to us. You want them? Prepare the grandest stage you can, and get ready for the biggest fight you've had! Remember: this is EVIL! EVERYTHING is EVIL! All of it…… EVIL.’

Naito:
‘Tanahashi finally decided to grace us with his presence. Tanahashi, how late can you get? You had, what? A sore arm? You could walk, couldn't you? You could talk, right? You didn't use your arm today. You could have showed your face at the other venues on the tour as well. See, you talked a lot tonight but I wanted to hear your heart, man. I wanted to know whether you really want the belt and that's why you're challenging me, or if you just want to face me, so you're challenging for the belt. I don't know. Anyway, I said, after Osaka, I want this belt consigned to history. But this company never listens to what I want. So, whatever, I give up. If the company doesn't want to recognise that I want the belt dissolved, that's fine, but Osaka Jo Hall I'll be the last time I defend the Intercontinental Championship. Osaka Jo Hall fans, NJPW World viewers, everyone in TV land, enjoy the show next week. Until then, tranquilo! Assen na yo. Adios!’

Tanahashi:
‘My injury’s healed. Naito likes to say assen na yo- to take it easy. So I rested up. Last year I hurt my left arm, and this year it was my right arm, so I've got a good balance going on.
(To press) I’m being self deprecating, you should laugh there.
I said things were out of control, but it's on me to seize control. Naito says that what I say goes. If that's the case then I'm the one that has lost control and has let this happen. I'm not happy. Not at all. But that's the kind of situation I like to be in before a match. I will end this. I'm making a promise, and I will see it through in Osaka.’

-- Naito has repeatedly disrespected the Intercontinental Championship, and he said if he wins, he wants to dissolve the belt. Is your priority winning the championship, or stopping Naito?

Tanahashi:
‘I held the Intercontinental Championship once but I wasn't able to really do anything with it. I can't make a bunch of promises about what I'll do as champion until I win. But that belt has worth to me. It has value to me, and I'm looking forward to holding it.’

-- You had some time away, and the crowd was somewhat divided tonight. Did you feel a change in the crowd?

Tanahashi:
‘I did. I wouldn't say it was divided down the middle. I think it was 60/40 Naito if anything. But what's important was that the fans are vocal. It makes me think back to 2007, the (All Japan) Champion Carnival. I have a job to do. I want to get even. If I can, I want to do that as a hero to the people. If that can't be, well, it's good enough to win. It's all good. I'm ending this.’
